<p>Sudo is dedicated towards building an inclusive and welcoming community for all those who participate in and support our initiatives. We focus on empowerment for women and minorities (including sex, sexual orientation, race, marital status, gender identity or expression, creed, age, colour, disability, political or religious belief) and are committed to providing an environment free of discrimination and harassment, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, can contribute fully, and have equal opportunities.</p>
<p>Sudo does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, family status, marital status, disability, race, ancestry, place of origin, ethnic origin, citizenship, or colour.</p>
<p>All members of Sudo and those involved with the Sudo community are expected to uphold and abide by this policy, by refraining from any form of harassment or discrimination, and by cooperating fully in any investigation of a harassment or discrimination complaint.</p>
<h1 class="codeOfConductContent__title">Shared Values and Expectations</h1>
<p>We insist that everyone who is a part of the Sudo community remains mindful of and takes responsibility for their speech and behavior. With this in mind, this is not an exhaustive list of our expectations, but encompasses the spirit of our values and this code of conduct.</p>
<ul>
<li>Acting out of respect to others</li>
<li>Actively listening and not dominating discussions</li>
<li>Respecting physical and emotional boundaries</li>
<li>Respecting property including furniture and equipment and other people's belongings, including personal computers and digital content or code created by other people (unless you have their consent)</li>
<li>Not making assumptions about identity, experiences, or preferred pronouns</li>
<li>Not using words that are racist, sexist, homophobic, classist, transphobic, cissexist, ableist, or discriminatory in another aspect</li>
<li>Keeping in mind the impact of your words and actions and be mindful that they represent yourself and the Sudo community</li>
</ul>
<p>We do not tolerate oppressive behavior, harassment, destructive behavior, or exclusionary actions. This includes, but is not limited to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Any conduct that demeans, marginalizes, rejects, threatens or harms anyone on the basis of identity, background, or ability</li>
<li>Violent threats or language directed against another person</li>
<li>Posting sexually explicit or violent material</li>
<li>Denying opportunities to share views, skills, and other contributions, and creating or reinforcing an inequitable learning environment</li>
<li>Unwanted physical or electronic contact or sexual attention</li>
<li>Discriminatory jokes and language</li>
<li>Deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, or unwarranted photography or recording</li>
<li>Verbally abusive behaviours, such as yelling, insults, and name-calling</li>
</ul>
<h1 class="codeOfConductContent__title">Reporting Misconduct</h1>
<p>If a participant engages in behavior which is not tolerated, Sudo or the event organizers will take any action they deem appropriate. These actions include, but are not limited to, issuing a warning or expulsion from all future Sudo spaces, a request for a public or private apology, and arranging a conflict-resolution session if actions were not deemed inappropriate.</p>
<p>If you experience or notice harassment, discrimination, or any of the other listed behaviors at a Sudo event please report the incident as soon as possible. Violations of the Code of Conduct can be submitted anonymously <a href="https://goo.gl/forms/1SzqOsS26kxnG5AN2" target="_blank" alt="Form for Misconduct">here on this form</a> and the Sudo team will review and respond to all reports. All reports will be kept confidential.</p>
