About js cfd possibilities

I want to get opinion from CFD field guys whats the possibility or future of cfd in js?

In my opinion (maybe biased 😄) a CFD code in JS, like FEAScript, offers two key advantages:

1. Minimal setup

Users don’t need to install back-end solvers, configure environments, or manage dependencies. All they need is a browser to start experimenting.

2. Educational tool

Educators can embed simulations in online courses or tutorials. Imagine a "JSFiddle" for finite elements. Users can tweak parameters and instantly see the results, encouraging interactive learning.

To boost efficiency, however, effort should be made to use GPU acceleration.

Thats exactly true. But why not fvm why going with fvm?

@sridhar-mani you are right that FVM is more suitable for CFD. However, I have chosen FEM for two reasons:

1. I am more familiar with this method since I have worked with it in my PhD.

2. FEM is better suited for multiphysics simulations, which aligns with the scope of FEAScript. To my opinion, the goal is not to perform large-scale, multi-core, fluid simulations (we are not trying to compete with OpenFOAM), but to solve simpler, multiphysics problems, with minimal setup.

Saw your blog post it was good. Which if the best material to start for learning cfd? I can code for the requirement but am not getting the underlying core physics.

Thanks a lot! I recently came across the CFD University blog, and I found it really helpful for learning about CFD. Start from this post. Most of the resources however concern FVM. Regarding FEM, I would propose to check this repo.

It's a good idea that would accelerate iterative solvers! Actually the Jacobi (https://github.com./FEAScript/FEAScript-core/blob/main/src/methods/jacobiMethodScript.js) can be used as a preconditioner in more advanced iterative methods like Conjugate Gradient (CG) or GMRES. Such numerical methods are definitely coming soon!
